Apple announced on Friday that it managed to sell one million iPads since the 3rd of April that the device became available for sale in the US (28 days). It has to be considered though that Apple had started accepting pre-orders before the 3rd of April, so the one million devices were not sold only in the period of those 28 days.
The availability of the device in the rest of the world is on hold, since the company is not able to handle the number of iPads needed in the US market to fulfill the high demand. Despite the efficiency problems of iPad that have come into public, it is obvious that it is a huge product success for Apple.
On the 3rd of May a “Jailbrake” release named “Spirit” was made available for both the iPad and the latest versions of iPhone, enabling the users to install non-certified software to their devices. This will surely boost further the high demand for iPad.
